About our Program

Who are we?

Our Franklin Community chapter has a rich history of over 95 years, having been established in 1929. Since then, it has been a cornerstone of the community, section, and state, actively participating in various events and initiatives throughout the year. Our chapter takes pride in showcasing the talent and hard work of our students, alumni, and community members who work tirelessly for the betterment of our organization. With an unwavering commitment to excellence, our students continue to excel in their career development events (CDE) and supervised agricultural experiences (SAE) and have become young leaders who strive to make our community and state a better place to live.

Why choose Ag?

If you’re looking for a class that offers a unique and exciting experience, look no further than agriculture! Unlike most other classes, you won’t just be stuck in a classroom all day. Instead, you’ll have the opportunity to work with plants and animals, conduct experiments in various lab settings, and put your lessons to work in real-world situations. This hands-on approach to learning makes it easier to remember what you’ve learned and discover new passions along the way.

In addition to gaining valuable knowledge and skills, students enrolled in agriculture classes also have the chance to participate in a Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) program. This is a hands-on project that you get to create yourself, based on anything related to agriculture. Not only is it a lot of fun, but it also helps you develop responsibility, independence, and other important life skills.

And if that wasn’t enough, agriculture classes also give you the opportunity to join the National FFA Organization – the world’s largest youth organization with over 600,000 members worldwide. As an FFA member, you’ll attend monthly chapter meetings, work on special projects, give back to your community, travel to new places, learn about hundreds of agriculture careers, and develop leadership skills that will serve you well in your future endeavors.

FFA is all about learning by doing. You’ll have the chance to develop personal and leadership skills that you can use throughout your life. And as an FFA member, you’ll get to participate in activities that other students never experience, such as speaking to the local school board or competing in a wide variety of skill-based contests known as Career Development Events (CDEs).

So if you’re looking for a class that’s both fun and educational, consider signing up for agriculture. You won’t be disappointed!
